EK has a partnership with SPG but the terms are different.

So this Shangri La Jade thing.....if I can get Jade via the AMEX it looks like I could get SQ Gold this way??? I may need to sign up to Shangri La, just in case it might help with an upgrade going through on SQ or something.

Thanks to woodborer for pointing this out - there is nothing on the Shangri-La web site about this!

I have a SQ flight to DEL coming up, with a Shangri-La stay there ... wonder how that will pan out under the new alliance?

so just saw the website - its a little bit meh

basically you only get status match once, and you need to fly between 1 (Diamond) and 3 (Jade) SQ sectors to get Krisflyer gold. Going forward, it just depends on SQ's normal requal criteria

Can do 3 sectors but for gold for a one off yr, probably not worth it. I fly SQ now and then, like not even annually. Would be a great jump start for someone into *A though.
