I stayed at the above Hotel for my 40th Birthday in mid August this year. My wife 2.5 year old son and I booked for 7 nights through Qantas Holidays who had the deal. When we arrived we were given a medium sized room on the middle floor (of three) next to the main restaurant and bar area. This proved to be very very noisy, especially after a days travelling. We were woken twice in the night by loud music and revellers partying, and we had to arrive on a Friday. We called the night staff and complained who eventually arranged for security to close the bar area about 2.30pm. Asleep at last. Until we were awoken about 5am by the breakfast staff getting the main resturant area ready for berakfast, and the intermittent tooting of horns as small vans delivered supplies. So we stormed off to the reception area to complain and asked to be moved. Of course the resort was fully booked and the best option was a suite located near the Golf Pro shop, with water views. This came at a cost of about $160 FJD per night !!!!! But it was my 40th so off we went, and it was a superb suite, nice king bed and bathroom, lounge area, two balconies, just great, and very quiet. The stay was great from this point on. On check in I gave the hotel my QFF card for the points. Recently I had not received these so checked with the Hotel directly. And the repose was because I had not booked with the Hotel directly I was not entitled to have the points. Yeah ok thanks for telling me at check in and dont foregt I spent an extra $160 FJD per night for a better room because you gave us the broom cupboard next to the bars and resturants!!! I was mad and sent them a turse response and said that I would suggest to others they stay at the new Intercontinential around the road. To date I have not had any response, and for some reason Fiji does not do complaints very well. I will be writing directly to the hotel if no points are forthcoming in the new year. And the food and service at this resort was not up to standard in my opinion. Next trip to Fiji I will be going to the Intercontinential, I mean we should have booked there first but the timing was not right, live and learn I guess.
