Shangri-La website: average of RMB 1,033.33 per night for a Deluxe Room (the standard base room)
Hotels.com: average of RMB 878.33 per night
Outcome: matched and extra 10% discount applied - average nightly rate reduced to RMB 790.50 per night.
Good result with this one. Had to be assertive in reply email when initially they said no because the Shangri La rate required no prepayment, whereas hotels.com charged you at the time of booking (although it was fully refundable until 1 day before).
Looking forward to hearing other people's experiences using the Shangri La BRG.
