Guys I need help answering an internal debate... I am in China next week on business and I can't decide which hotel to stay.

One one hand, the IC world expo is an AMAZING hotel and a great location to where I need to be (10-15 min walk). I am IHG Gold (Not Gold Ambassador) so i will get free internet at my stay.

On the other hand, I am HH Diamond, so I may get an upgrade if space permits, comp breakfast and free breakfast and possibly lounge access if they have it. I have not stayed here though and I don't like staying in unfamiliar hotels (especially for a whole week). I have been moving my business to Hilton and SPG hotel as I think the rewards are better for me.

I also looked into some of the SPG hotels but the decent ones were fully booked.

Can anyone share their experiences or thoughts?

Did you get the big offer from IHG? If your staying a week why not join up to the Ambassador program, you will get a guaranteed upgrade, and eligible for the ambassador accelerator which gives you 20000 points for every 15 nights in an IC, you will also get bonus points for your stay and a welcome gift, free movie, 4PM checkout etc.

Markis, I don't recall seeing their offer. I was Ambassador last year, at yep the room upgrades were great, it didn't always come with club lounge (where it does with Hilton) and I much prefer this.

IC hotels are typically 3-400 per night in Sydney and Melbourne, where I stay each week and my company has a $200 per night limit, I can usually sneak a Hilton for around this 60% of the time. So even though I am a fan of the IC hotels, for my requirements I can stay there enough at their cost per night.

Priority Privilege will get those rates down in Australia, check the big offer thread, everyone got one.

Thanks Markis, Let me just move this rock from my head. I have not heard of this competition, or Priority Privilege, but #299 for 10% doesn't bring the price down far enough for a return. At this stage I am thinking Hilton is the loyalty program to stick to and the Hilton Shanghai is on the cards!

Priority privilege has 25 % off and 50% off (stay one get one free) offers without the vouchers in Australia, I have never paid over $200 at the IC in SYD for instance. And check the comp, its lucrative!

Staying once a week, even just at 10%, $30/nt saving you only need 10 nights/yr.

Plus the 25% best flex, plus f&b discounts. You get your $299 pretty quickly.
