SFO - JFK in Y - best options?

Hi all

I'm flying between San Francisco and New York (return trip, late march and early april departures) and I'm trying to work out which airline will be best in Y.

JetBlue, United, Delta and Virgin America are roughly the same price, and AA is +$50. All offer direct flights?

Anyone fly enough in the US to know if there is much difference between these airlines?

Do you have any FF memberships? If not go for the cheapest/most suitable time wise.

If you have a FF tie in then go with them. Otherwise I'd go with AA, UA or Delta simply because their size and ability to get you there. All have the same service in my experience.

My preference if looking straight from a service/aircraft point of view would be Virgin America. Flown them many times and easily the best in my opinion.

As others have said however, you may be inclined to choose UA, AA, etc based on FF programmes/loyalty.

I've found that pretty much all of the legacy carriers in the US (i.e. Delta, United and American) have poor customer service. So there is no real standout option. Of the choices you've given, I actually think Virgin America would have the best overall service. I don't see any reason to fly Jetblue if they aren't cheaper than the rest.

A good choice IMHO. Don't forget to credit the flights to Virgin Australia Velocity. (You can sign up for free if you haven't already.)

Good choice. I've only flown VA SFO-JFK once, but it was great.

JetBlue would be my second choice if you don't have status with any of the 'legacy' airlines.
