I know it is against the QFF terms and conditions, but has anyone had any experience 'selling' their QFF points.

I only have a lowly amount that is probably only worth a couple of hundred dollars (but maybe 4-5 SYD-MEL flights) but I am really enjoying Virgin at the moment and don't want them to expire.

I guess the options for selling are either doing a transfer or just redeeming the flights, and the other person giving me the $$?

Any advice? (like don't dare do it or the QFF police will track you down?)

The only way you can move points is using the family transfer option, the limitations of whom points can be transferred to of which I am sure you are aware.

As for how to stop your points from expiring, the easiest way to achieve this is (in order):
  1. Get a Woolworths Everyday rewards card
  2. Activate and link the card to your QFF account
  3. Visit your nearest Woolworths and spend AUD31 or more.

This will ensure there is activity on your QFF account which will stop the points from expiring.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

As for the OP's situation, family transfers don't count as activity either.

thewinchester's suggestion of using EDR is probably the best/cheapest solution - you just need to get 1 point there!

Why not turn your points into cash equivalent with the gift card option in the FF store? 13,500 points gets you a $100 gift card to an assortment of companies.

Family transfer (long lost brother in law) after negotiating a fair swap on FT Coupon Connection. No cash though...

While we are watching this thread closely, discussing how one might go about selling something is not (in itself) against any forum rules. It's just like asking how one might go about selling a car, to which I am sure plenty of people will be happy to offer ideas.

But, if anyone makes an offer to buy points (or anything else for that matter) or offers to sell points (or anything else) then it will be deemed a commercial post and disciplinary action taken.

With the 'risks' of doing this, I can't see you getting very much of a 'fair price' for the points? 13,500 for a $100 gift voucher may be the best you can do?

Having said that, perhaps you could use those points for 4-5 Syd-Mel flights, for free... sure, you may like DJ more (goodness knows why, but.).... but surely 4-5 free QF flights is better than nothing? Hell, isn't Syd-London like 64,000 points? If you have about 60,000..... might be able to get another 4,000 then book a Syd-London flight?? Worth much more than the sum of money you'd get selling your points, I'd imagine.
