Selecting a longer layover on QR connections in DOH

I've been searching award flights using VA on QR flights to IST, SAW and KWI and in each case the VA 15 operated by QR BNE-DOH and arrives in DOH 23:00. It always wants to force me onto the first connection which generally leaves DOH after midnight and reaches the destination at 04:00-ish. I would prefer to hang out in DOH overnight and take the first flight in the morning which leaves around 07:00 and arrives 10-11:00ish. I really don't want to reach my final destination in the wee hours. But VA doesn't have a multi fight option. Is there any way to get a longer layover short of booking 2 separate tickets?
