In 2011 I had my first waiver of ineligibility approved (I received a spent conviction in 2003 (I had just turned 18) for stealing from my employer and got a $200 fine) and spent 3 weeks in the US

I am planning a 7 week trip at the end of November and had my second visa interview Feb 14th this year and they have sent off for another waiver of ineligibility and was advised that it will take 6 months to process.

Just a couple of questions
Has anyone had a second waiver of ineligibilty denied?
Has anyone gone through the process recently and did it really take 6 months? I really dont want to wait till August to book everything
Does anyone know if they grant visas for more than a year on second or third applications?

My situation hasnt changed since last time and it is now 10 years since the offence happened, I got approved last time so I dont see why I wouldnt get a visa the second time im just worried that I may get denied. I really dont want to wait another 4 months for an answer :(

I know I cant get a definite answer but would just like to hear peoples experiences with second or third applications.

Thanks

I can only tell you the advice I have received from an Immigration Lawyer in the past and advice on this thread.

A) Someone else on the forum put a post up a while ago that they applied and got it approved so if your circumstances haven't changed then there shouldn't be a problem and I have also been told by a lawyer that if your circumstances do not change drastically then it's a much easier process and if approved the first time you have a very high chance of having it approved again
B) Yes, on the consulate website it states that even if you have had it approved quickly in the past, there is still a 6 month wait no matter how many times you have applied.
C) They grant a 5 year visa after the third application, so next time, you should be able to get a 5 year visa.

Thanks

Just a quick update.

I got my email today, 17weeks and 4 days after my initial interview, saying my visa has been approved. I also got a 5 year visa, so im pretty happy with that.

I just have to pay an issuance fee and ill get my passport back.

It amazes me that the U.S takes so long to process visas. Surely there are ways for them to speed up the workflow internally...
