I have a trip to the US coming up booked through Qantas. My QFF number is in the booking. One segment is RDU to LAX on US699. I cant choose US699 seats on the Qantas website so I went direct to the US Airways site and typed in the US Airways booking reference provided by the travel agent. I can see the flights but the choice of seats is abysmal. My understanding was that as OW Emerald I should be able to see the "preferred" seats.

It is nigh impossible to contact US Airways directly so I went through the Australian AA number. Not much help their - unable to upgrade with AA miles as it was booked through Qantas.

Anyone had any experience of selecting good seats on US Airways flights.

Not me. I wasn't able to change my assigned seat MCO-PHL even though I had booked through AA. Seems the full merge is still a work in progress.

You will need to ring US Airways directly and have them check your QFF number is in there and recognising you as an emerald. They can also assign seats for you.

Booked directly with US a few months back. Could select great seats, but at OLCI found I'd been thrown out of them and shifted elsewhere. No config change, just bumped, probably by one of their own elites.

Are you OWE? Disappointing if you were treated like that.
