I was wondering how status changes the seat availability when booking in various aircraft. For instance, whilst NB I was only able to select row 3 in 73x equipment and now that I am PS nothing has changed.

I recently booked into a 767 flt (as PS) and could only book into the last two (business) rows.

I’m not sure, perhaps someone else could let me know, but it seems that as PS I can now pick any available seat at T-80 whereas before when NB I think I could only perform that miracle at T-24.

I would be interested to know what seats various status holders can select in different equipment and at what stage, the rest of the seats open up.

The other thing you need to factor in is how many people have allocated seats in the cabin before the T-80 time period.

You may be out of luck as the cabin is loaded with those that have higher status with you who have all picked their seats leaving few seats left that are actually available.

That's the thing that I'm trying to work out, who gets to pick what seats prior to T-80?

For instance Serfty says, "As a WP, generally for domestic flights for me I can't select the first row in business class and the first two tow (sic) in economy until T-80."

So do WP1's and CL's get offered any seat they want when they book?

It appears from Serfty's reply that WP can select row 2 and 3, (I am assuming that we are talking about 73X equipment) do SG have the same selections?

It's the same on 763/330 - row 1 is off limits for this WP until T-80 ...

As a WP1 I am able to select any unoccupied seat in my cabin from the time I book the flight, both domestic and international. My wife and daughter, both lowly WP only, can't pick the first row until either T-80 or T-24 (I forget).

If we are travelling on the same flights but with different PNRs, I can't even ring up and ask for them to be moved next to me.

If we are on the same PNR, they have the same access to seats as I do.
