Sea Level Bed & Breakfast, on Wrangell Narrows in Petersburg, Alaska. The building was designed to look like a renovated warehouse. Our room includes a sitting area, dining table, kitchen unit, bathroom with tub, and a king bed. There are no shared inside spaces. There is wireless internet access, a telephone, cable TV and DVD. The room features five large view windows, and we have seen seabirds, eagles, boat traffic. There are separate controls for heat in the bathroom & rest of the room/apartment. The refrigerator and cupboards are well stocked with yoghurt, bread, cereals, jams, milk, fruit etc.
We arrived at 4am off Marine Highway ferry & taxi ($7 plus tip ) was there as pre-arranged by host. Note at front of building to say we were welcome to move in as no one else booked in that night. key in the door so security obviously not a problem although taxi had to dodge deer wandering the road. Petersburg is located near the narrows so no cruises stop/pass here so very quiet. Heaps of walking options but not much happening bar wise or food options-having BBQ chook from supermarket tonight with beer & Nobilo NZ wine.
Currently 7 pm & sitting on balcony in shorts & t shirt having a beer.
Host is kindly taking us to ferry terminal when we leave after what looks like being 3 extremely relaxing nights.
