SCOOT Y+ Sydney to Berlin from USD1,142/A$1,648

Saw this, but I'm in two minds about it. Emirates just released to sale of 1680 dollars from Australia to Europe... which trumps? Full service on Emirates with a complete entertainment system meals and full bar, or scoot premium?

No idea TBH. Saw the article and thought it was incredibly low fair for Y+. But what’s Scoot hard product?

You can send the points to SQ but I don’t know if VA Gold and up can access a lounge with this fair?

Friends were very impressed with EK Y seat space and service (they actually said to me that they thought that it was PE!)

There's no lounge access for Velocity members on Scoot.

It's a pretty good fare if you just want to fly to Europe in something other than an Economy seat. I personally wouldn't book it (I would choose Y on a full-service airline where I would also get lounge access etc.) but ScootPlus may suit some people.

I would consider ScootPlus to Singapore, but probably not all the way to Europe (at least, not in one go without a long stopover).

Ah, just realised that Scoot have rebranded the ScootBiz to Plus. Will JQ follow suit?

I have flown ScootPlus, and ScootBiz, and for around $1,700 I would certainly consider it in preference to a Y seat. This is because I am around 190 cm (6'3") so legroom is what I most want. Being on the large size the extra width is also very useful. The food is pretty much a $5 meal from a market stall and you would probably need to buy an extra snack on the Singapore -Berlin legs. For the Perth-Sin trip it was enough.

You would have to make sure that your tablet or whatever is full of entertainment options. There are free charging points on the B787 in the Plus area. There is wifi and a small, about 15 minutes, free allowance. No free pillows or blankets and you may or may not get some free water runs - it happened on one flight.

And they very definitely police Priority Boarding. On our two trips out of Perth the ground staff were very thorough in ejecting those who did not qualify.
