Scoot Airlines - First name (Given)

Hello Everyone,

I have seen this question being raised with Qantas but not with Scoot.

Upon booking my ticket online it ask for
First name (Given)
First name on passport

I have only entered my First name "Andrew"

Australian passport only has Name in the following layout.
"Last name"
"First name" "middle name"

Has anyone come across this issue when checking in.

Upon editing my ticket to add the middle name - $125 :(

I Foudn this on the scoot FAQ after making the booking. dates Aug 2023 - Noting it says "Should" not must which i would assume would be up to descrection of the customer service personal on day of flying,

if your passport has a middle name, kindly include your middle name along with your first name in the First Name field during your booking.

E.g. Last Name = Tan, First Name = John, Middle Name = Doe. You should input your name as Last Name = Tan, First Name = John Doe.

From my own experience, you don't need to add your middle name to Scoot bookings.

I flew Scoot recently and they were quite happy with "Clifford Smith", rather than my full name "Clifford Frederick Smith".

So nothing to worry about.
 
Just checked a couple Scoot itineraries in my inbox and none of them have my middle name, never had an issue. I have had it flag a discrepancy using the self service check in machines but I've just skipped past the prompt and it has been happy days.
 
It has been years since I’ve flown Scoot, but my e-ticket did not have my middle name on it

All travel on Scoot is international! Never really an issue.

The only time it seems to cause problems is if you have certain levels of status with KrisFlyer (which provides benefits on Scoot) and the names in the ticket and the membership account don’t match exactly, including any middle names - you might not get the status benefits. But that really is a fringe case.
