I saw this fare pop up on another site a few days ago, and noted it down to consider using, but I've forgotten which site I saw it on (sorry).

Santiago to Easter Island is normally $1854 in J, but LAN have a sale fare which can only be sold in Chile. So go to lan.com, switch to Chilean Spanish and it's only 347984 CHP including taxes, so ~$AU711. If directed to QFF, that would earn 5850 points and 160 SC ($4.44/SC).

Apart from the season restriction below and the flight being 6 days a week, fares in the right bucket seem to be available most days I looked at next year, including around the Olympics. This might be a good chance for people to visit IPC if they're over that way anyway!

The interesting parts of the conditions from ITA Matrix are:
PERMITTED 17FEB THROUGH 31DEC
$US50 Change fee
TICKETS MAY ONLY BE SOLD IN CHILE.
END-ON-END COMBINATIONS PERMITTED. SIDE TRIPS PERMITTED. PROVIDED COMBINATIONS ARE NOT FOR CARRIER CM/AV/AF/KL/AZ/UX/TP/NZ/SQ/TK/EK/EY/H2/G3
FARES MAY BE COMBINED ON A HALF ROUND TRIP BASIS TO FORM SINGLE OR DOUBLE OPEN JAWS.
PROVIDED COMBINATIONS ARE WITH ANY FARE FOR CARRIER LA/LP/XL/4M

Careful as chilien site can be price only for residents! you will be able to buy the fare but at the time of boarding they'll check your residency. So careful!

I got around this for TAM by paying via PayPal as they check based on country where you're credit card is issued. Not sure if you'd be able to do the same for LAN

It doesn't say that anywhere I can see, in the fare condition or the T&Cs (and I speak moderate Spanish), up to the point where it would charge my credit card, so having entered my passport and phone details.

I've bought flights while in a foreign (albeit English speaking) country before, and have never thought to change the country-selector to my home country. What would happen if you were in Chile when you bought them, so it defaulted to that country, and you never thought about changing it? :-\

I even found it for cheaper in March. Unfortunately, adding the continuing leg to PPT increases the price to 5K!

Hmm, this is pretty tempting. I'm heading there in July 2016. Just waiting on my travel agent to price up an LATAM airpass to see if it makes the flights around South America any cheaper. Some of the one way flights are just killer.
