I've had a significant schedule change on a Syd-Per flight from 1:45pm to 9:15am which I am unable to make (going QF instead). Can I get a refund on a non-refundable ticket or is the current Travel Bank credit my only option?

I suspect the answer is clearly in your question. :D

'Can I get a refund on a non-refundable ticket'

I definitely do not expect alcohol in 'zero alcohol beers' etc.

Yes, but how much of a change constitutes a right to a refund? Purchasing an afternoon flight and getting stuck on a morning flight due to VA cancelling is VA's fault not my fault.

Don't worry about the previous advice. I suspect what you need to know is in section 3 of the guest compensation policy:

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

In December, a friend and I decided to cancel a trip at the last minute. We were on seperate bookings so each rang to cancel. I wanted mine cancelled into my Travel Bank so I asked for that at the start of the call but my friend just asked to cancel the flights – didn’t mention the Travel Bank or anything at all. There had been a schedule change just after we booked the flights (6pm flight became a 3pm flight or something like that). Because of this, they offered him the option to cancel into a Travel Bank or get a full refund. So he did get a refund on a flight that had a schedule change. Also, worth noting this was outside the Platinum line hours so it was the normal call centre who offered the refund as an option.

Thank you. This is what I was looking for.

Seems to be a thing lately - had it twice in the last few months. My return flight from Darwin (to BNE via MEL and then on to ROK) was changed from Monday morning to Sunday arv. I have an upcoming trip from ROK - BNE - MEL in June and just got an email the other day to tell me the ROK - BNE leg has changed to one day earlier. BNE - MEL remains the same. So now have to stay overnight in BNE. can't be bothered changing airlines as it will probably cost more than the $99 in the ibis Budget Airport Motel

Not sure why they're doing them so much. I've had two changes for the same flight in the past two weeks!

I have an upcoming flight from LST to MEL around Easter break , the flight schedule has been changed already and unsure if there are more in line. I was yet to accept the first change and since received a second email advising of a new time.

I’ve managed to secure a refund for a change in schedule that meant missing a land connection (lol) and also then an event.

I did have to force the overseas call centre to escalate and transfer me to the Brisbane management to authorise it though - but there was a lot of ‘computer says no so FO’ from the first two call centre staff but once I got to the manager and calmly explained they could no longer get me to the destination for the purpose of my trip they folded.

So keep pushing is my advice if the flights really don’t suit and keep asking to be elevated to a manager.
