Scams like these

I saw a charge on my AmEx from ATOONLINE in Adelaide which I read as "A Toon Line". It took me a while to realise that I had not been scammed, but it was in fact "ATO online".

We've all been there one way or another with mis-read descriptions in our statements

As there were no attachments, I assume this was an email confirmation phishing expedition.

Got a WhatsApp message purportedly from a Bangkok hotel I have a room booked with via Bookingdotcom. The message from "Malik and Associates" said I needed to just confirm my credit card details by clicking this link etc. I went through the Booking app to contact the hotel and tell them about the scammer and they said they didn't have a Whatsapp address and there were scammers etc.
A couple of years ago I got a similar scam message but it was directly through Booking messages from the hotel I'd booked in Vietnam. This one fooled me but didn't cost me anything as it didn't work. But to find the call was coming from inside the house had me worried.

WhatsApp have a report function that you can use to report and block. I think WhatsApp remove them from the platform.
