Hi, we are travelling to Jean Michel Cousteau resort later this year and didn't realise when we booked that it is impossible to reach it from Brisbane in one day. We've resigned ourselves to spending a night at Denaru on the way over.
On the way back, the Fiji Airways domestic flight arrives at Nadi at 1215 and then we could get a Virgin flight to Brisbane at 1520.
Is 3 hours enough at Nadi?
I would be very grateful if anyone had any advice.

Nadi is a small airport so it should be fine, subject to the reliability/punctuality of the domestic connection (which I can't comment on since I've never flown FJ domestic).

We did this a few year ago and was not a happy experience. Fiji Airways oversold the Savu Savu - Nadi flight (apparently by 10 seats on a 12 seat plane!) but put on a flight leaving an hour later which they bumped us on to. That flight was then cancelled due to weather and so they then bumped us onto the flight the next day. The Savu Savu airport requires a visual approach so low cloud / heavy rain means the plane cannot land. We were sitting at the airport (which is not even a shed - just a tin roof over a couple of benches) and heard the plane - it circled once, turned around and went home...

I spoke a few times to Virgin who eventually allowed us to change onto the next days flight at no cost (the change fee was going to be ~ $1,100) (separate PNRs so no protection) and we ended up staying an additional night a Jean Michel Cousteau, which our travel insurance covered.

Things may have changed, but if not on one PNR, I think it's a big risk.

Hope this helps.
