Hi all,

I am headng to Santiago, Chile next month for three whole days (the first day doesn't really count as I'll be coming off QF27 and I expect that I will be quite tired).

Any recommendations on what to do / see / eat / visit / tours in those three days. I am staying at the W Santiago at this stage (cancellable if something better or someone recommends me another hotel).

Also a silly thing, I can obtain a Visa on arrival is that correct?

Many thanks,

Alan

Hi Alan,

Santiago is one of our favourite cities to transit for a few days at a time, always something new to discover.

Yes - visa on arrival for Australians.

If you like skiing, Santiago is close to the mountains, so great for a day trip to Farellones (cheaper) or Valle Nevado.

A half day tour of Santiago will probably do, from there you'll get an idea of what interests you.

Eating - if you like peruvian food Gran Museo Perú Fusión is an excellent choice - Restaurante Gran Museo Perú Fusión, Santiago - Atrapalo.cl

The W Santiago is in the right area - and Vitacura / Las Condes is a very clean, affluent part of Santiago. Same rules as europe - low risk but be vigilant.

Enjoy!

Great, thanks for giving me some ideas :) No doubt they will come in handy.

Now I must go and do some more research.
