Foreigner is May end 24mths? Vodafone will let you upgrade after 21mths with no penalty.

Just switched Vodafone May expiry business account to Optus who readily bought out remaining two months of contract. Doubt you would have too much trouble pushing this out to 3 months with Optus at the moment eager to do business.
If staying with Vodafone, they are reluctant to renew contract 3 months out without seeing another party offering. Vodafone will readily renew 1 or 2 months out.

Not my experience - Vodafone offered me the 3 month renew deal out of the blue - and readily did it again the last time I did it - no alt offer reqd - but as always YMMV.

That had also been my experience with two previous contract renewals with Vodafone being done three months out. My Vodafone Account Manager this time advised they could readily do 2 months but would need evidence to match 3 months. She further apologised for having little room to move on the contract and was not in the same ballpark with the offer from Optus.

Virgin and Optus will do this as well.

Better to have a customer locked in for another 24 months than risk them being out of contract and looking at other options.

Moreover, most of the time the phone one has is still working quite well - so there's those pesky and cheaper month to month plans that don't tie one down the companies need to consider. Can't have that ...

No, get-em locked in before they feel the breeze.

FWIW, I did re-contract with Virgin late last year, but my GS5 is still in it's box as my S4 is working fine ... and it was a run-out - I reduced my costs by $20 per month for more calls and the same data. :D

Why is all this in a Galaxy S7 thread? The S7 is not subject to recall, and is not subject to the bans.
