How can I search for threads / posts about S7 (Airlines of Russia)? S7 is too short to search. Even if I make it "S7 Airlines", it still tells me S7 is too short to search on!

The problem lies with the fact the built-in search can only search for 4+ letter words (I don't believe 3 is even possible). We have looked at a product that would allow for better search across the site, down to 2-and-3 letter abbreviations as are often found on our topics, but there is no ETA on this being implemented I am afraid.

In the meantime, you could use Google or your search engine of choice and search for the term and "australianfrequentflyer.com.au".

Yes, I'd seen some of your posts and was going to put out a request for info. :)

I confirmed one of my queries last night - you CAN get S7 flights as a QFF award, so that's good. (Although the Qantas site still calls them Siberian Airlines - I don't think they've been called that for 7 or so years!)

But in general, any comments or concerns about them? Idiosyncrasies? Looking to fly them HKG-Irkutsk

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Overall I have found them good but Basic food is average but edible. In the Y cabin getting a drink is very hard as they seem to give it to the J cabin and nothing left to sell for the Y cabin.

On the A320 there is no Entertainment make sure you bring your own.

In many places they use contract lounges that means you will have to pay for food and drinks so be careful of that.

Depending on airport they have direct customs and also direct transfer by car of bus to the aircraft.

They have a tendency to keep the seat belt sign on till they are in full cruise.

If flying in J they do look after you and will pamper to your desires as much as possible.

I would class them as a 3 star airline with reliable and predictable service.

English is second language and many dont speak that so communication can be an issue.

A lot of staff, especially check in dont seem to understand that Qantas is Part of One World and we should get looked after so you may have to stand your ground when ot comes to Priority Baggage etc.

Just dont have high expectations think combination of JG and AA domestic Y.

No free alcoholic drinks in Y.

Thanks. Just booked HKG - Irkutsk return in business on S7 :).

10 hours of flying for 76,000 points and $86 in taxes etc. A week at Lake Baikal environs coming up :D
