Ryanair carried almost 80 million international passengers last year, nearly 30 million more than any other airline.
The figures – released this week by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) – confirm Ryanair's status as "the world's favourite airline", a spokesman for the low-cost carrier claimed.

Another slow news day? Would you fly with them?

The toilets at a major train station might be the most visited in a city... But that doesn't mean people enjoy going there.

But congrats to RyanAir. I dislike them, but they have done a lot for aviation (both good and bad).

I personally have never flown them, probably more due to a lack of opportunity than any other reason.

However, that said, I would avoid them as best I could unless the price difference to another carrier of a higher standard was excessive. Similar to how I treat TT.

I have no problems flying LCC generally but these guys do seem like another step of LCC compared to the ones I have regularly flown on (thinking JQ/3K and AB (although that could be considered bias towards QFF)).

Please do list some of the good elements all I hear are the negative like wanting to get rid of the seats altogether for short flights, charging for toilet access or asking an insane amount of 70 pounds to print out a boarding pass

- Changing how airfares are priced in the EU. One ways are now available at decent prices, sat night stay restrictions etc have been often removed.
- Making airlines like BA introduce cheaper "hand luggage only" type deals.
- Ensuring that consumers have the ability to take holidays they never could have imagined before.

Should point out this is for international, not total passengers, which in rankings brings Ryanair down to 6th, and they are not in the top 10 for scheduled passenger kilometres flown.

My thoughts on Ryan air are all positive. As long as you fork out those extra few peso and book the exit row. Then you get a lot better treatment. Yes the constant advertising is annoying.

From an IT point of view, the printing the boarding pass yourself is an amazing cost saver for ryanair. There is little more than a well photo copied grid of numbers that line up with your check in order. That said, it would be interesting to see how the lone check in person deals with duplicates..

I would say that its the cheap airports to are the ones letting the side down. They would have some kind of office staffed at all times flights were operating. They could easily provide internet and printing services at very little additional costs and turn a good profit - eg $10 for printing a page and $5 for 30 minutes of internet.
