Just made plat and about to book a flight to SYD-BNE-POM and return. I am about 190cm and my knee likes stretching room.

Client willing to pay for exit row.

Haven't had the benefit of a row 3 as yet, I imagine not as good as exit row but how good is it?

Thanks.

BETTER than an exit row! Pretty sure there is more leg room (never got the tape out) Much more likely for a shadow (although getting pretty rare) Always seems to be exit rows are full of bigger guys (I guess that’s who pays for them) Sometimes you will get a paper and bottle of water in 3. Every flight is different and there are a million possibilities but I would say 3 hands down. I'm 186cm and 105kg, I haven's seen an exit row in years it's 3 all the way

I'm 205cm and I second that row 3 is better than an exit row seat! As I'm only red, I've only been lucky enough to sit in row 3 a couple of times courtesy of lounge angels, but much more leg room than exit row.

In addition to comments already made it is by far easier to work on a laptop without someone else reclining. The angled footrest is perfect also. Also Row 3 has solid dividers between the seats, far less ability for a spill motion into your position if the person next you is too big for their seat. Also as the tray table folds out you can fold it out to half a tray table which is convenient for a beverage also.

I have mixed feelings of the solid divider in row 3. For short flights its a good thing. Long flights to NAN, its annoying you can't raise the arm rest for more room - the rows are never full on those flights.

I actually feel more comfortable in exit rows. I feel the leg room is sufficient (for me) and I find there is less chance of the middle seat being taken in exit. Last week I actually scored an exit row 13, then thought damn no recline. But the crew came up after take off and unlocked the row and told us we could now recline the seats until preparing for landing. She told me that they are putting the recline function in all the aircraft. So exit row for me.

Lots of leg room in row 3. Im 5.11" and hubby is 6.1" and we could stretch out and be comfy and no one reclining into you.

Sorry for size but photobucket wont let me resize at the moment. Yes, Im "that" person in the lounge, on the plane with a camera.

Attire standard for Row 3 can be acceptably the same as exit rows - as above

Ha. Tailored knee length shorts, polo/tshirt and boots is his usual flying outfit. As hes usually my plus 1 and not working,he dresses for comfort although hes gotten a few schoolboy uniform comments over the years. :)
