I am sure every Australian are fed up and tired with the three garbage mobile providers who charges extravagant fees and could dare to surprise us with a national outage.

Lest we forget the days where we cannot call Uber, swipe credit cards and even 000 when we need.

We will remember how much they will charge for so called roaming pass for just taking one call whilst overseas.

These days are over.

Foreign mobile providers are providing Asia-Pacific roaming plans, which for cheaper than major providers in Australia per month, you can enjoy free roaming within Asia Pacific Region - all in for 70GB per month.

Here's the link:

Honestly why support Australian telcos when they are turning their backs against us?

Let us abandon Australian mobile providers and roam in Australia instead!

Just get a call only plan to keep your number and use roaming data for less!

Not exactly cheap from what I can tell. Plus some other obvious issues. Probably a very niche audience.

Besides, it’s still going to roam on one of three domestic networks….

I’m happy with $30 pm (with more domestic data than I can ever use) and $20 per year for roaming calls/texts. Plus eSIM data OS for $1 per GB.

My issue is only the 3 major telcos support the Apple Watch which I am addicted to. Irks me as my plan keeps increasing the monthly fee telling me that I now have gobs more data which I don't need.

Very niche. May suit a small cohort.

You will be using one of the three local AU telcos when in the country anyway so rant a bit superfluous.

I paid <$160 for 12months on my AU annual plan with more data than I can use and buy esims for travel (which admittedly is nowhere near as much as many AFFers) which is usually less than $70 per annum.
