Hi all,

Looking for some advice. Has anyone been able to cancel one sector of a return booking made with Velocity points. Currently have SYD-DPS, DPS-SYD booked and looking to cancel the first flight out.

Phone agent said it's not possible but have heard some successes with QF.

I’ve done it with paid fares… but they go through this overly complicated process where they cancel the whole ticket, put it into travel bank, then reissue the remaining sector. It’s called ‘short-segmenting’.

Maybe the reason they can’t do it for an award seat is the whole cancel thing? As the seat might not be there to reissue.

Although that being said, given it’s just two one way sectors and fares, seems strange they can’t find an easy way to do it.
