I've been monitoring a flight (reward seat points + pay and normal price) between Melbourne and Adelaide for the last few days and between yesterday and today it went from 9800 or 6300 $19.95 to 12600 or 9300 or $26.95. It's not an availability issue and I'm not just looking at one particular flight, all of the flights on the day have gone up to a base 12600 where yesterday the cheapest base was 8900. The actual normal seat price has not increased from yesterday. I wish I had a screen shot from yesterday! What has happened? This is the first time I have logged in to the new way of booking where it asked you to sign in immediately. Has anyone else noticed this massive increase in point cost for a Reward seat?

:( Cheers!

I just tried to log in and it said "Unfortunately this request cannot be processed" - :headbang:
So I can't help you but I recently looked at some reward flights and wrote down the points etc so may be able to check when they let me back in!

I just had a quick look and can still availability ADL-MEL 8900 or 6900 $15.97 and MEL-ADL 9300 or 6900 $19.16. Are you looking at a public/school holiday time perhaps?

There is no need to log in to check redemptions. Just put the details in and scroll down a bit.

OMG, in the time that I wrote this, the point costs have gone back to 9300 (i meant 9300 not 9800 above) or 6300 $19.16 (sorry I couldn't remember perfectly). Lucky I still have a screen shot from 15 min ago showing the 12600 point cost from the web site. I've also got a screen shot of the 'new' improved yesterday cost from a few min ago. WHAT IS GOING ON? Maybe I should book it fast before the price goes up again. I hope I did these attachments right.

Do it whilst you can. Sometimes they even disappear altogether. Fun and games atm.

The top screenshot is an Any Seat Award (which are more expensive) and the bottom is a Classic Award.

Ok, I'm not sure how I selected different type seats, but ok, thanks for the explanation. Still getting use to the new booking process I guess. ;)

There are quite a few mistakes around. The other day I noticed a reward flight where the J reward was cheaper than the Y reward (by a lot).

Was the J cheap or the Y expensive?
