Hi all, I'm now thinking of transferring warehoused credit card points to Enrich for the purposes of booking J reward seats to Europe for the family. I've signed up for Enrich and the website allows me to search for reward flights, and shows me the points required. It also has a little message at the side saying:

Travel Options

A Stopover lets you take a break en route to your final destination. Explore Kuala Lumpur and other exciting Malaysian destinations before continuing your journey!

That's exactly what I would like to do, but there is no obvious way of doing this, other than to select One Way and book the different segments separately, which completely changes the points required - instead of 51,000 each way from MEL-AMS (for example), it works out at about 31,000 to KUL and another 40,000+ from KUL to AMS. I'm thinking there might be a possibility of selecting a normal round trip at first and then adding on the stopover later on in the booking process, but I don't know as I have zero MH points so it won't let me past the first screen - just says you have insufficient points.

Anyone with prior experience able to advise?

thanks.

Was in the same situation and was advised by Enrich that they do not allow a stopover for a reward redemption. You would have to break up the flight as you mentioned which would cost more points.

Hmmm. Thanks for the reply, even if it wasn't what I wanted to hear!

Jack 3193, you can have a stopover. I have a redemption ticket to india booked in J. I booked it all the way syd- del-syd. Then i called mh call centre. They did add the stopover (4 days in my case). All i had to do was pay US $20 for this change. No extra points or breaking the redemption into each leg.

I'm confused. Isn't that just a SYD to DEL return and by definition means its two one-ways together as a return with time in DEL?

What was meant was that MH didn't charge 2 separate tickets for SYD-KUL and KUL-DEL. Instead, it remained as one ticket SYD-DEL with a stopover in KUL.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks for that, good to know!

Hi all, bumping this to see if anyone has done this recently?

Just tried to call and was told this wasn't permitted - wondering if I should HUACA or if the policy has changed?

Thanks!

I've recently done a straight booking over the phone with a stopover in KUL, losing the 15% online discount, but still cheaper than two one ways.

I didn't try what kbbedi suggests above.

The terms and conditions are unclear, but suggest it may be possible even though it might be against the vibe of online awards (see parts K & M)

Enrich - About Enrich - Terms & Conditions | Malaysia Airlines

A passenger traveling on an Online Travel Award is not allowed to make stopover per one way or return trip journey.

...

Enrich Online Awards may be reissued only for travel on the same airline, by the same person and provided no part of the Enrich Award has been utilised. Additional Enrich Miles may be required for any change in the itinerary. If the new itinerary requires fewer Enrich Miles, the excess Enrich Miles will not be refunded. A re-issuance fee will apply. The re-issued Enrich Award will have the same expiry date as the original Enrich Award. The reissuance can only be done at any nearest Malaysia Airlines Ticket offices.

It doesn't say you can't re-issue same same airline, same person, but different dates. I suppose they could charge you full points without the discount if they wanted to which would defeat the purpose and end up costing more.
