Booked Per-Sin on SQ on a VA codeshare flight number. Can't make any changes within 24 hours of flight.
Booked Per-Sin on an SQ ticket. No restrictions.

Both business fares. So can't change my return at short notice on VA ticket.

Also the Virgin Business Flexi rules are bonkers:

"V
irgin Australia’s leisure international Business fare. It provides you with a low priced fare, but bookings must be made at least 42 days before departure and you must stay a minimum of 4 days.

All flight changes are required at least 24 hrs before scheduled flight time. Permitted both before and after departure. Fee of AUD 50 per person per change. Fare differences may be payable and other restrictions apply – see General information"

I probably wouldn't go by what's on the Virgin website... it's a little all over the place!

Looking at PER-SIN on KVS (Sabre) it looks like for Business Flexi fares you can change them within 24hours:

There is a 200 AUD difference between the business flexi and saver on PER-SIN which for the extra flexibility isn't so bad.

For me, (sadly having to fly economy!) I've noticed there is quite a bit of disparity in the conditions between booking the SQ and VA codes. SQ is far more flexible with changes and much cheaper in economy than VA. I always book at least H class (Flexi Saver) or higher and quite often I ending up on a Flexi fare (Y or S) in one direction on SQ. A recent trip to Delhi the difference was about 500AUD between a Flexi fare on SQ and the same fligths on a VA code. When I earn full economy status credits and 1 point per mile on the regular flexi fare with SQ and get free changes (no service or change fee!) I see no point in booking the VA code... although the bonus points would be nice!
