I'll be staying a night at the Cordis Langham (former Langham Mongkok) in a few days (first time, after high praise of the Langham from AFFers).

I've just found out that a friend will be in the area and we're heading out for dinner. I haven't really had a good run of restaurants in Kowloon (I think I've managed to find every tourist trap) .. so I'd appreciate suggestions for a good feed, preferably close to the Langham/Cordis. 'Chinese' (and I know that's a horrible description ... saying I don't want Thai, Italian, French etc!). Please flag if I'll need to extend my mortgage to dine.

Thanks both; still there; wouldn't mind heading out of the hotel if possible.

We were there last July. It was so wet we barely made it out of the Hotel. It is very authentic Chinese but not exactly up market around Mongkok proper. But all the HK restaurants are just a quick subway distance and the MTR is in the Mongkok Mall.

Thanks again; been to HKG very many times but this night want to stick close to hotel. Ming Court will be a good back-up.

Go Ming Court - restaurants in Mong Kok mainly cater to Mainland tourists meaning they're either usually overpriced or use substandard ingredients.
