Hi all,
I have just moved back to Sydney after a few years working in the US, it's great to be back! The only problem is that I just achieved preferred status and started to get free upgrades on US Airways, now that I'm back I have to start from scratch so I need some advice.

1. I managed to rack up miles or points on several different programs and now that I'm back in OZ I'm wondering what I should do with them?

AA Miles 122,006
US Air Miles 82,163
Qantas Miles 7,207
US AMEX Points 132,018
Hilton Hons Points 95,848

2. I just joined Qantas FF program and so far have only accrued the miles from the flight over here last month, I'm keen to fast track my FF status. Is there any way I can use these miles or status to do so?

3. What is the best Credit Card to get keeping in mind I am keen to gain Qantas Silver / Gold membership ASAP.

4. Are there any other tips or tricks I should use, I will be flying fairly regularly, domestic 2-3 per month international every 6 months.

Thanks a lot any tips are appreciated.
Cheers

Given that you have quite a balance with AA and will be doing a reasonable level of actual travel , I would suggest sticking with the AA scheme rather than moving to the QF scheme since in most cases awards are much cheaper ( especially for premium awards ). You can fast track your way to AA Platinum (OW Sapphire) with a platinum challenge , the details of which are on the AA forum

A credit card would not assist you in attaining any status levels , only allow earning of miles.
