Hello all
have another hard one
i am currently qff gold, going to silver at the beginning of 2016 due to lack of flying.
I ceased all flying as soon as I found out I was pregnant.

So I would like to fly Cbr - Tsv in mid December and return before Xmas
It will most likely be only myself, 3yr old and infant.

I would also like to if possible have a stopover night in Brisbane

now between my husband and I we have (by Xmas)
120k QFF pts, and 65k velocity points

we are no strangers to buying AA points however two things have flagged doing the AA points
it cost the same weather you travel from Cbr - Syd or from Per - Akl.
therefore stopping in Brisbane AA points is a waste, the other things I found when doing dummy bookings, infants cost the same amount of points as adults/child, is this correct, would they then technically have there own seat? But if the infant scenario is correct it pretty much rules out AA points, unless I can get creative and book myself and infant on QFF (as QFF and velocity both don't charge extra points for infants) and book the child on AA and then have Qantas link the bookings on there end.

now elevate are having a bonus points sale, I have never used elevate, too be honest haven't flown Virgin since we were stranded in Townsville on a trip to Queenstown, and only really started flying Qantas when Malaysian airlines stuff us around and left us literally on our own at the airport ( before Malaysian joined oneworld) with Qantas being the first available flight so we had to book it there and then, but like they say it is much easier to keep a customer then it is to gain a new one.

Anyways my problem with elevate is the unknown, without being able to find out too much without a phone call, such as;
are infants charge points like with AA, or not,
and how many points is actually needed flying Cbr - Tsv not Cbr - Bne + Bne- Tsv
I happy to make the phone call but would rather ask the community if they many already know.
