Redemption Booking Partner Airlines

Have been trying to find both Partner and Star Alliance flights for redemption and always comes back not available no matter what routes I try!!
Has anyone had any luck with finding flights and if so is there any trick to this?

I do not know how far advance you are trying to book, or to where or who on etc.....

However in the past I have found good availability on *A when SQ was full. Or I was booking late in the piece. Thai for example has had very good availability.

Did you call or are you only using the new online booking engine?

I have had some luck hunting for fares for 3 pax ex-NRT into Europe for May/june 2018. I came up with a few different airlines, mainly LX and TK IIRC.

Thank you. Based on past experience before the new "enhancement" I think that calling will provide more options.

The new SQ website is not great... try searching for Star Alliance availability on the United or Aeroplan website, then call SQ.

Still trying to work out how to use the SQ website for partner awards. Is there any way to search for partner awards on routes where SQ do not operate their own planes? At the moment i can only seem to search for routes which they operate on and then once i get the results on SQ metal i can click the partner awards button.

Trying to book DPS-MEL via SIN and was wondering can I book SQ J tickets through VA? I searched SIN-MEL ok on the VA site for the Sq flight, but no sq flights came up for DPS-MEL, only VA flights.

First search for the individual segments, i.e. MEL-SIN and SIN-DPS. If availability is there call VA to book. Note points for business class on that rout are as per the below. It is a lot more flying going through Singapore.

MEL-DPS (VA Business): 49,500
MEL-SIN-DPS (SQ Business, booked through velocity): 65,000 Virgin Points
MEL-SIN-DPS (SQ Business, transferred to SQ): 58,000 SQ Points = 78,300 Virgin Points

yeah didn't get a chance during the day. Called up and they said there is availability MEL-SIN-DPS and vice versa but it's not as much as booking through SQ direct. However most flights were available if there was a Saver fare on SQ website. Just can't book through velocity for Standard fare.

We're booking it for a few friends on our flight home from DPS so they can experience the SQ J hard/soft product and also use it a chance to stopover in SIN with them.
