Hi, I still have one flight credit from back in May 2019 - have flown since then but never used it. Just went to
look into redeeming it - and says I can only do so by ringing Qantas direct?
Does anyone know why this is so?
Its 9.30 pm so I just thought I would try and ask and hopefully not be a long wait at this time - but I was wrong- said at least one and half hours or more!
I have bought vouchers before and able to redeem ok - so what is the problem with this - and will they charge me to book? Assuming I can actually be able to speak to someone that is?
Thanks

I had one from February 2020 that I had to ring up to use, since it was no longer valid online. It was a 'telephone-useage-only' voucher (whatever they call that).

Hmm, well May 2019 was before Covid. Is it still valid? Assuming it hasn't yet expired?

Don't use the usual QF phone numbers, or you'll be on hold for yours. Use the frequent flyer member hotlines for starters – especially if you are Plat. or something grand.

Even they are on a 1 hour hold as we found yesterday...

It might depend on the time of day you ring. Try the moment they open their office – maybe you can catch them then, whilst they're still downing their morning cuppa & bikkie

Good thought, though as we're in Perth we're probably calling them during said cuppa and bikkie...

Thanks. I have tried ringing early in previous times - but I saw someone stated they rang on opening times and still had to wait hour and a half! My booking was cancelled by them (as far as I remember) because of covid and I think everyone was still in lockdown then - and I had no reason to travel anyway as concert I was meant to attend was cancelled anyway! I had at least one flight booked on points at that time - and I got points back ok. Last flight I took I used a jetstar voucher - from another time when got caught in a snap lockdown - and surprisingly that was easy to use!

Be aware that a May 2019 voucher will expire in May 2022 (this year) so it is best to try and use it.. if just to get the value out of it. Remember you can use it to book a fliht, say domestic, for up to a year (or so) ahead.
