Redeeming Points

Hey,

I'm just looking for some confirmations on redeeming SPG points.

1. If you use points to pay for an SPG room (e.g 10k points/night) do you still receive status points for those nights you stay?
2. When you pay using points, do you have to pay taxes?
3. If your room has a charge for Wi-Fi, can you say "I am SPG Gold, it comes with complimentary Wi-Fi" to have that charge removed?

1. You get stay credits as SPG calls them
2. No taxes but resort fee can still be charged for resort properties
3. Yes
