Redeeming points on ANA

Does anyone have any experience booking ANA HND-SYD using VFF points? I cannot see any availability anywhere despite ANA being listed as a Velocity airline partner.

I'm trying to find 1-way HND-SYD mid Oct (J for 4).
The calendar comes up with dates marked "Available" and when I click on the calendar, it then changes to "No flights available." When I do find the occasional date available it only shows Tokyo-Cairns on ANA then VA Cairns to Syd.

Try 1-2. 4xJ is likely the culprit here. Not sure if ANA even releases 4 award U seats per flight.

also ANA doesn't fly Tokyo and Cairns - should be a complete VA for that route.

I did a search +-28 days before and after 15 Oct 2024 using seats.aero, nothing available for J class using Velocity Points. Only available for United & SAS.

Plenty for Econ though.



Also, there are some from SYD-HND in J class using Velocity Points.

Two big problems with what you're doing.

1. You're looking for 4 seats. Not particularly common for ANA to release 4J on SYD-HND route — sometimes, but rarely during peak periods such as school holidays (mid October is NSW school holidays).

2. You're looking too far out. Most ANA award availability is released 14 days from departure.
