I have red status and 1215 status credits earned since Christmas. Yesterday I completed three segments so assume status will change to silver. Flight booked Perth to Broome economy next week one way (paid flight with one person pooling to me). Need a flight Perth to Melbourne one way the week after (single flight not yet booked. No pooling available). Then return Perth to Wagga Wagga in May (May be able to pool from one person). Heading to USA on rewards flight in July and will need internal flights so would like status before then.
Can anyone suggest the easiest way to achieve this with the above?
Thanks in advance

That is quite a Predicament!

Could you run your transcontinental flight PER - SYD - OOL - MEL if you've got a bit of time to spare?

Same with Wagga Wagga, maybe fly to CBR and drive out if you're road trip inclined and have the time.

Good luck!

ATR in Perth? Where?

All I see are the good old workhorse F50s :p

Maybe I'm a bit slow but can someone please tell me how someone can be 1215 SC since Xmas & still be red?

Minimum VA flight taken.

8 for WP, 4 for SG & 2 for PS.

Two people traveling together can pool the SCs to one and so double up.

You can also earn SC's on partner airlines but they do not count as eligible sectors for status if not a VA flight number.

As I travel alone & don't pool, I would never have thought of that.

Family pooling on partner airlines with one child and one adult. I never expected to have status as flights are nearly always rewards flights but this looked like too good of an opportunity to let slip.
Thank you for the suggestions. Looks like a detour to Melbourne will be on the cards.
Just to clarify - do I need 2 sectors for silver then another four for gold or is it four in total for gold.

I hope it is four in total for gold.
My wife and I are in the same boat..Red, with both over 1000 status credits, and 0 sector credits.
We are doing SYD-ADL via MEL (why fly direct.....) this week so hopefully silver when we land in Adelaide, then Gold when we get back to Sydney.

This is a 'SECTOR" run, not a status run!

Four sectors in total.

I think that was the plan but CASA put the brakes on that.

Thank you
So does that mean it is 1000 status credits in total for platinum (not 250 + 500 + 1000) and I should be doing 8 sectors to achieve that. Sorry for the silly questions but I just want to make the most of this unexpected opportunity

Yes thats the case:

As soon as your Status Credit balance reaches 1,000 and you have flown 8 Eligible Sectors you will automatically upgrade to Platinum membership

Thank you for the clarification Markis10
Thanks everyone for the help
Looks like I will go the long way to Melbourne for a platinum result.

Yes, last year I earned over 400 SC's from cheap "Non refundable" First Class fares on DL.

You and I need a chat sometime serfty!

I may be down in Melbourne for a yum cha event sometime in the next few months.....
