Hi everyone,

I have been ruminating on how this is all going to pan out post 31March;
  • QF classic awards currently not bookable direct to DXB from PER (to be specific, no EK codeshare Classic Awards are bookable yet)
  • If and when the schedules are re-routed, will those PAX already booked into Classic Awards to LHR, say via SIN, be automatically transferred onto DXB routed flights?
  • Given Classic Award inventory is at a premium to begin with, if the above scenario occurs, will there be anyadditional Classic Awards 'released' after the codeshare is fully approved?
  • when will QF start loading the new award inventory into their system (i.e. when will it start to be visible on ExpertFlyer?)
Sorry if any of the above is confusing; I'm over thinking it myself now :oops:

The affected passengers have already been looked after, the codeshares will probably open up once the final tick is given.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks for your input markis10. I am also expecting this to be the case. I guess I was just wondering whether Award inventory would be reduced (given affected passengers have been looked after / placed on DXB flights) and also given I imagine these new flights will be popular and hence not as many Award seats released...?

We were booked into JASA Sin to Adelaide and were rebooked JASA Sin-Melb-Adelaide at no extra cost. The thing which got me though was that we were originally on the Sin-Melb-Adl flight but paid 15,000 additional points to get the direct flight to Adl. I told them that when they contacted us to change our booking, but they refused to refund the additional points we used, saying that as the flight was available when we changed, (even though Qantas have now withdrawn it) they won't be refunding them.

There's a good business model - for the business, not the customer!
