I have to shave with a razor on business trips as electric razors don't work for me.

Does everyone who only takes carry on use electric razors or can you somehow get shaving razors through security?

Never had a problem getting a plastic disposable through security. Wouldn't try it with a straight razor!

I use razor blades, I don't like using electric shavers and disposable does not do a good enough job, and have to store them in checked luggage.

I remember one time I just had the shaving mechanism without any razor blades in the laptop bag and it showed up on the x-ray and they asked me to take it out to make sure I did not have any razor blades.

I always carry my disposable razors in their original packaging in a wetpack which I put in my carry on,I've never had a problem getting through security.
Cheers

I use a Gillette Fusion Power and it goes in hand luggage every time I travel overnight.

I also take an electric razor if I am on site on a Friday and not in business attire.

With well over 300 international flights with hand luggage only, on overnight or longer trips (almost all of them), I always carry a Gillette Sensor Excel razor in my carry-on. Never been a problem. I dare say that if you tried to take a cut-throat razor in carry-on you would have a problem, but any safety razors will be fine.

I've never had an issue on the occasions I've taken a safety razor on in my hand luggage.

I've never had a problem taking disposable razors on-board. QF usually have them available as well if you ask. I suspect they wouldn't too happy if you tried to get blades on though.

As I carry hand luggage 90% of the time I have a razor packed. Never have an issue with it at all.

Never had any trouble carrying on either my Gillette Fusion or my razor sharp wit on any flight - even in more paranoid "freedom" loving countries.

Many airlines provide disposable razors (of varying designs and quality) in their premium cabin in-flight amenities kits. Many others have them available to premium cabin passengers upon request. So there is no issue with them as far as security screening is concerned. No need to be shaving with a plastic butter knife while travelling :p

Doesn't that make you tough if you can shave with a knife?? Mick Dundee did it!
