I have been eyeing off joining PC for awhile, but haven't bothered as the potential for future stays in ICHG hotels were minimal. However, I am now 4 nights in to a minimum 8 night stay, potentially a 15 night stay, and am about to wander down to reception with the form.

My question is, is it possible to accrue points for the previous 4 nights? Do they all compound upon check out? And if I am to stay the full 15 nights, would it be worthwhile to sign up to priority privilege or ambassador immediately? I can see at least another 5 nights, possibly as much as 20, at Intercons this coming year.

Thanks gurus!

Don't sign up with the hotel, do it online then let the hotel know you forgot to give the your number, if the Hotel signs you up you get a very small credit as a welcome gift and no more for your spend - If you enroll in Priority Club Rewards at the time of your initial stay in any IHG branded hotel excluding ANA partner hotel worldwide, you will be awarded 1,000 points for that qualified enrolling stay. Once signed up, head over to the bonus points thread and sign up for those, as you have not checked out the whole stay will credit. Doing it online may not prevent the 1000 points from kicking in it it's worth a shot.

The hotel if it's an IC can sign you up for Ambassador instantly, of you are staying at an IC in Australia change your earn to airline miles to ensure you get a spend based reward, otherwise it's a flat amount of points regardless of spend.

Note that if you change for airline miles preference, you can't get the PC bonus offer points that you maybe able to sign up for at the time eg5000 for3 nts etc. You'll have to weigh up the value of PC points vs airlines points.

Yes that is true for the stay x get x points, however the other bonus points offers such as 1000 pts every stay for 90 days still apply, some allow for 500 miles instead but often you get a mix of points and miles credit. Collecting miles still counts for the ambassador bonus as well, more often than not it will work out better for you to do miles in Australia.

Ok. Signed up to both PC and Ambassador.

Currently staying 17 nights at the IC in Century City, Chengdu. Ambassador gets access to their very nice lounge with a selection of fine drinks and enough food to comprise a different 3 course meal every night, seems well worth the $200 USD just for these 17 nights. Not to mention future IC stays.

I have signed up for as many PC offers as possible, some stuck, some didn't. However, having now read more threads, am thinking that there is a flat earn of 2000 points for stays outside the US, regardless of spend/length of stay. Am i misinterpreting or is this correct?

In which case would I be better contributing points to my QFF account for this stay?

Thanks for the tips once again.

If you are in China it's flat FF points anyway, may was well collect PC points, the Ambassador accelerator helps, and of course it will be a good start to hitting RA.

Thanks to the advice here, managed to score 40,200 points for my first stay as an Ambassador with 18 qualifying nights.

Just curious as to why this "Only 50 more qualifying nights or 19,800 more points to earn Platinum Elite." is still shown as 50 nights and not 32?
