Quick Access Hand Luggage

Hi

I'm looking for a new hand luggage wheelie. My main requirement is quick access, which means:

1. Easy to open. I want it to be as easy to open as the good old Samsonite school case. Most of the bags have a zipper around them which means you need to move a zipper around 3/4 of the bag in order to open the thing. Argh!
2. Key lock. I find it time consuming to fiddle with combination locks, so prefer a key. Most of the time I won't lock it anyway, but it's good to have the option
3. Pocket. I want to be able to put some travel documents in a pocket for quick access

I am thinking of the Zero Halliburton Geo Aluminium Carry on case, but am a little worried about whether it will go through an x-ray machine or will they ask me to open it each time.

Does anyone know whether aluminium bags are x-ray compatible?
