Hi there, hoping for some assistance on a question I have.

I am currently planning a trip to the USA and will naturally include some good quality status runs, just for the fun of it.....

I have looked at the AA website and generated some dummy itineraries. Some of the flights legs are coming up as:

1. AMERICAN AIRLINES OPERATED BY AMERICAN EAGLE AIRLINES, and
2. AMERICAN AIRLINES OPERATED BY REPUBLIC AIRLINES AS AMERICAN EAGLE

I will be booking into First. The flights have AA flight numbers.

A screen grab attached as an example of what I am looking at.

My question is: Will these flight sectors earn QFF points and QFF SC's although they rate designated as being operated by a third party airline?

Many thanks.

They will all get you F SCs.So 390.
Though when doing transcons I always go via DFW as LAX-DFW is just over 1200 miles.so LAX-MIA earns 120 SCs but LAX-DFW-MIA earns 210.
LAX-DFW-LGA/JFK earns the same SCs as LAX-MIA-JFK.

For an extra 30 SC you should try and route through ORD instead of DFW on the way across to MIA.

All of those flights should earn on QFF

the only one I would be wary of is the Republic one.

i cannot book a Republic flight on my next RTW trip even though I can book it through AA and it comes up as Amer. Eagle

The flights are still American Eagle flights and will credit as such.

I agree

"Customer service in the air and on the ground will be to the regular American Eagle standards – with the full range of oneworld services and benefits, including, for members of any oneworld member airlines' frequent flyer programme, the ability to earn mileage rewards and tier status points, redeem mileage rewards, and, for top tier cardholders, access to lounges where they are available. At the same time, these flights will be featured in all oneworld fares.

Republic Airlines' oneworld affiliation covers only flights operated as American Eagle. The affiliation does not extend to other Republic Airlines' flights not carrying the American Eagle brand."

Thanks dr Ron good tip

Oh so let me get this straight book from LAX via Chicago O'Hare airport to Miami. You get 240 SC in First that's insane I am definitely doing that.

Yes -plus there's a Flagship lounge in ORD but not DFW. (It's a little cryptic to find as it's separate from the Admiral's Club. Just ask at the AC if you can't find it easily).

The availability via DFW is more prevalent however if you can find a connection through ORD it's a winner.

Bloody amazing is all I can say whole new world out there!

The whole AA/QF - YUP/KUP fare is like a mass transit rubik's cube to me:confused: I think I need to invite drron and mrs.drron to a night out to see if I can get enlighten! ;)

It's a classic case of 'why fly direct if you can connect' - with a very rich dollop of the AA F cream on top .

And if you haven't been to Chicago, it's well worth a couple of days. It's a very interesting city.

Also don't trust mileage monkey on the ORD/MIA leg it short changes you. It is in fact a zone 3 SC earner.

My only caveat advice on this run is to avoid ORD from DEC through FEB the bad weather can destroy connections. Even though you'll get ORC and get there in the end, it can get ugly if you have tight turnarounds.

Sounds like dinner at Hungry Feel.:);)

Republic Airlines to fly as oneworld affiliate on American Eagle routes - oneworld news - oneworld

This would be good if it would let me book ORD-SLC which I am struggling to find a connection for!

As I said the RTW booking engine won't let me book

I got a cracker of a KUPP fare on that route via DFW a while back, worth a look :)
