But seriously who would want take them with you?
Depends next stop & activities - the pillows are really good to use fo example as lower back support eg in rental cars or trains / foot rest as not so bulky like most hotel pillows & can be easily squashed. Just my 2 cents worth.

And some people collect them as a momentous of cites visited… if you don’t need the pillow you can just take the cover :)

Why does that lump of an island ? Desk? need to be there (immediately behind the passenger in front)
This you mean?

It’s top of the footwell of the reverse facing seat in front of me - it is kinda weird but it’s good for resting stuff on but not small items as there is a narrow gap between it and the wall for them to disappear down

The seat itself is really quite comfortable to sit - not the greatest bed and I did not sleep well
I’m with you on all your observations re QSuite!

Did my first (and only) flight with them in Feb this year and it was… underwhelming?

Agree the sleeping surface wasn’t good (for me)… the headrest is not flush with the seat, making it a bit awkward to get comfortable, especially for side/front sleeping. It also didn’t seem particularly long.

I also had just come off a much newer update/version of the Qsuite on Turkish (ex Aeroflot). Similar design but much more space, headrests flush with the seat, and tray table fully stowable (not sticking out). So that also kind of contributed to the ‘?’ factor on Qatar.

The way the table juts out at all times bit of a novel design also:

I am sitting up half recline and both my knees hitting the table:

That’s not a serious problem but taller people may find it annoying.

Yes the top of the bed not being fully flat is a pain - I am a side sleeper and I had to wriggle down to try to get below the bump and then I can’t fully stretch - you are taller than me MEL so I can understand how you couldn’t get a dent sleep

Agree with your report in particular the precooked steak. Same served in the DOH lounge. Seems that all of the beef is precooked.
Mrs ausfox and I travelled MEL DOH CDG and return, post Covid whilst operating crutches due to our motor mishap. The attention and service we received was outstanding during check ins and transits. I would fly with them again happily.

What's going to happen when SQ get doors ? :)
They do bc already have them on 380 R and it stays wide open entire time unless I am sleeping.

But that can get painful too if the turkey directly across aisle doesn’t close their windows then you can be blinded when their door is opened as we all know what a special design those SQ Suites are
