Can't go wrong on a CX 1-2-1 J ! Much better than QR A330 reclining J like you've said. Maybe check seatguru for recommendations also

I booked a DONE4 many weeks ago with the last sector being HKG-JED on CX. A month or so ago CX announced the cancellation of that route from the end of March. I didn't do anything knowing that I'd be accommodated somehow. A couple of weeks ago I received an automated email from CX with a revised HKG-DOH on QR in J and DOH-JED in Y. I phoned up, not real pleased, given (i) sloppy seats and (ii) the rules say I should have been bumped up to F not down to Y. I thought I was going to have problems with the CX agent: she couldn't pronounce Doha and didn't know what QR stood for.

But it all worked in my favour. After discussing options 'we' settled on HKG-LHR with CX and then LHR-JED with BA, both in J. An additional 88% in miles.

Although I've received a revised itinerary with the changes, with this new route from CX it will be interesting to see if the change sticks.

do the rules actually say you should be bumped up to F? I was having a look at the DONE4 rules but couldn't see it.
