Is there a way to check and see if this 747 has a 4 class cabin or a 3 class cabin? Trying to book a premium economy ticket via the website seems to route via Sydney rather than a direct Mel-Sin flight.

It is showing as full.

Ok This is the interesting part.. Check My Trip shows me seated in the following seat..

Melbourne - Singapore Flight 1: Melbourne - Singapore 34D None specified No special meal

So given that I bought an economy ticket, have I been given an OP-UP? or is it too early to call?

I suspect they've substituted the plane with one which doesn't have PE.

The W0 and T0 classes indicates that. A common occurrence at the moment due to a shortage of PE equipped planes. Further confirmation will come from viewing the seat map through eg ExpertFlyer or CheckMyTrip.

Looks like you are right. EF has J in row 29 and 30.

Yep, just checked the seatmap, and it appears that this is may be a 3 class flight..
