It's T-80 for QF63 SYD - JNB and 1A & B have opened up. It's a refurbed seat layout. Do I take them?
Presently have 15A & B in the upper cabin.
Have read reports that the upper cabin is better / quieter.
Definitely want LHS seats to see the South Pole.
1A&B are the only seats I thought might be better but didn't expect them to become available.

If upstairs try and get exit row if available as then no climbing over the aisle pax to get out, but 15 is fine in any event.

Downstairs in nose good if you fluke a non-refurbed 744 but there's precious few (? Almost none) of those left so don't get your hopes up.

although 1a is a great experience with the "forward" looking window especially on qf63 if it heads a long way south.

Unless row 15 is exit row upstairs (which I don't believe it is), I'd go row 1.

The window looks forward a bit, but really not that much. The nice part of row 1 is you aren't disturbed by people walking around. There is a storage closet between the two aisle seats, but in my experience rarely used. The seat across the aisle isn't that far from 1B though, but not an issue in my opinion. Very private row 1 if travel with a partner.

Thanks Docjames and Daver6. I did grab Row 1A & 1B - didn't think they could be worse than R15 so figured any downside would be minimal.
Like the idea of maybe getting some pics with a different perspective through that forward angled window.
