Wasn't this service downgraded to 3x weekly or something a few weeks ago? (And now no longer exists as it has been replaced by QF2.) It could be that Flight Radar hasn't picked up on that.

The two QF flights from SIN to SYD are now QF2 and QF82. QF2 is on the A380 and QF82 is on an A330, I think.

Surely it would be PER-FRA?

Surely QF would want somewhere with better One World links? With the demise of Air Berlin, I'm struggling to find a continental European base.

MAD with Iberia? Or would FRA be an option Mattg? Am I placing too much emphasis on the OW links?

Considering their next European destination is likely to be CDG, yes I think you are placing too much emphasis on oneworld links. The previous CEO of QF international has said that CDG and FRA are the next likely European destinations (and that AMS is the only other one they're really considering).

Besides, FRA is nice and central to both Germany (with rail connections) and Europe in general, and could easily work with a decent interline and/or codeshare agreement with a non-oneworld airline based there. There's also a reasonable amount of O&D traffic to FRA which helps.

Well thought out and I would agree. Personally I think FRA would be great. A very accessible city, Paris can be hell at times. And with its great rail connections, has got me thinking of the possibilities .

Do either of CDG or FRA have curfews? Might look that up.

Sorry to op, I'm going off topic.:(

FRA definitely does have a curfew. The previous QF5 used to arrive in FRA just after 5am (when curfew lifted) and QF6 departed around 10pm in order to get out before the 11pm curfew kicked in. The 10pm departure meant QF6 would arrive in SYD around 5am two days later, so the flight had special permission to land before 6am in SYD which of course also has a curfew.

Having said that, shouldn't be an issue if the new PER-FRA-PER flights run to a similar schedule to PER-LHR-PER.

Nothing wrong with FRA as a destination. It's the origin that's the issue.

Enough flights to Europe out of PER already.

You can never have too many options when QF and MH offer 737s as a first leg on the way to Europe...

PER to Europe is a very long leg.

I'm not in a hurry to get there. I'd rather break the trip into one or 2 stops.

You and me both, BKK and HKG make a good first leg. I'll not be blocking anyone from getting a seat on QF 9 or 10.
