Hi All
We are flying out on Sunday QF3 to Honolulu from Sydney - the aircraft is said to be an Airbus Industrie A330-200 -- we are flying ECONOMY

I am hoping this is a newer plane than our last flights to HNL it was old and awful

in term of meals we have the choice of the Q-Eat Meals or choosing once on board --- what is the best option? how can i find out what the on board options will be?

Also, it says they serve DINNER/REFRESHMENT --- i hope this means breakfast as my kids will be hungry once they wake up...

Thanks
Bec:D
(previously posted this in wrong section but i will delete that old post)

QF3 normally gets the Intl-config 330-200s (EBG, EBI, EBL)
These have SkyBedIs in business, but the old blueish Economy seats with the tiny square Rockwell Collins IFE.
Depending on how long ago your last flight was, it was probably on a 767.
FYI. Qantas is currently refurbing all the 330 aircraft, but it will take another 12 months to complete the project.

Albeit last Sunday's flight was operated by a 330-300 (QPG) which has the more modern Panasonic IFE.

If the QEat meals take you fancy lock them in. If different you can't find out till you are on board.

Thanks moa999. :)

Due to operational reasons, we cannot guarantee the aircraft type. However at this stage, VH-EBG is scheduled to operate QF3 SYD/HNL 06OCT:

Seat Maps for the Airbus 330-200 | Qantas

I've use Select on Q meals once in international business class. In that case the pre-order meal options were also on the on-board menu. There might have been one extra pre-order option that wasn't available from the on-board menu. Haven't experienced this for economy.

Someone at work recently showed me their economy pre-order options but I don't know how they compared to on-board menu.

Not much information here, very generic. International Economy Class | Qantas

Please report back to let us know the answer

It works the same for Economy: International Inflight Dining | Qantas

Select on Q-Eat shows all onboard meal options, plus an exclusive dish that can only be selected online.

I hope you enjoy the flight and the stay in Hawaii!
How long ago was your previous flight? I'm guessing it was in one of the old 767s which have all been retired.

This will also be an old and awful old plane, just a slightly newer awful old plane than the 763 you were probably on last time and it will have personal IFE albeit old and limited. But seriously VH-EBG is only 8 years old but the interior looks more like it's done a hard 20! Anyway as Qantas cannot guarantee aircraft type due to operational reasons (apparently!) there is still a chance that you might get a 747 or an A380! (Or perhaps a 737)
