The gentleman and I are off to Japan again on QF21 on 6 November in J. Is there still a mix of non and refurbished 747's flying this route? If so, how can I tell which plane we are on? Has anyone flown this route recently? Which seats are better in J? Any other tips or things I should note?

Have travelled on QF21 a few times (most recently in August in seats 17A &17B) and prefer the upper deck mainly because you're cocooned away up there. Row 16 has acres of leg room due to the exits (not that the other rows are lacking) but all J seats seem to be good.
