I have been watching the seats on this flight and have noticed that the big business section is almost empty.
The pointy nose bit and upstairs are almost full.
Does this flight have a tendency to be empty?
Rather disappointed it changed from an A380 when I booked to a 747
My upgrade request is still there :)

Most regular travellers preselect upstairs - for me it depends on seating availability.

Often (except for 5B & 5J -on the 3 class) the 'big business' area is filled with travellers who's upgrade came through since they are generally the last seats remaining unallocated.

If I was travelling with the other half it sounds great but only me I tend to take the aisle seats . This time I have one of the exit seats

Remember allocated seats are only a rough guide to how full the flight will go out. Some people don't allocate. some people are standby.. some people are late upgrades etc.

A route like SYD-LAX is likely to be pretty full in J more often than not.
