QF price promise

Has anyone used, or attempted to use it? I'm keen to hear any experiences.

(Background for my thread is 2 deaths this week, getting back to ADL for Tuesday will cost me $480. the latest death will require SWMBO and kids to accompany me and I think the price is going to be nasty.)

not sure what you mean by price promise in this context? QF only guarantees you will not find the fare cheaper anywhere else. If the fare is $480 on their website, you are unlikely to find it cheaper elsewhere. Even if you do, QF will match it - so if someone shaves 5% off it, that's all they'll match. You won't get it for half price...

Take 2 - I need to book flights this week. I've seen cheap flights with Virgin, however I prefer QF, is the Price Promise a hassle to try and claim?

The qantas price promise is to match a qantas fare against a qantas fare on a third party website. Your best bet may to call qantas and see if they can help out with a compassionate fare.

Otherwise you will just have to take what you can get regardless of airline.
