Hi All,

I am shortly flying from LHR to IAD on BA. The booking is in discount economy. I think QF will earn 25% points for the trip whereas AA is 50%. I am just short of silver on QF and this flight (should tick me over to Silver) but is it worth it? For a trip to the States I am only going to get 2,000 measley miles. Thanks alot QF and flying BA although discount economy is not the cheapest option by far. I have never had any status before so silver means a little something (to me at least) but the QF program is really pissing me off with its restrictive earn rates on BA and impossible redemption rates. Should I go for the Silver or stick it in AA?

From British Airways :

British Airways' transatlantic flights to/from the U.S. are not valid for AAdvantage mileage accrual or redemption.

I would say put them to QF - you're not going to get anything for them in AA.
